I'm thrilled to step into the role of NPT Chairwoman for the academic year 2024/25. Coming from a Cybersecurity background and having spent the past year as an NPT cohort member, I've seen firsthand how negotiation skills are invaluable across all fields. Winning the Negotiation Challenge in April 2024 with my team really confirmed what I already knew - that negotiation is something I'm truly passionate about, and I'm eager to showcase this further in my board position.

My time with NPT has shown me just how much this organization helps people grow and develop. As Chair, I want to build on that foundation. I can't wait to collaborate with all my fellow board members to create an even stronger negotiation community. I truly believe that together, we can take NPT to new heights and create something really special.

During my bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, I realized that strong soft skills distinguish great engineers from good ones. That's why for me, developing skills like communication, teamwork and negotiation are as crucial as technical expertise.

I’m a big enthusiast for transdisciplinary collaboration and enjoy exploring different cultures and perspectives to discover how we can learn from one another. I believe in following through on my promises and value honesty above all else.

Beyond my degree, I have found that taking care of my plants is one of my happy places. I also love to read good books (especially nonfiction) with a warm cup of tea to refuel and see things from a different perspective. I’m excited to collaborate with all of you and contribute to our shared mission!

Having spent my academic years studying Psychology, I’ve come to see how closely intertwined it is with the field of negotiation, both grounded in understanding human behaviour and communication. This insight naturally led me to pursue the field of negotiation, which inspired me to join the NPT cohort last year.

My time with NPT has been a pivotal experience, providing me with valuable negotiation skills and solidifying my dedication to this field. Motivated by the journey, I’ve now chosen to take a more involved role by joining the board, where I can further support NPT’s mission. I’m eager to continue contributing and working together toward lasting impact.

Secretary

As a Civil Engineering student passionate about digital construction and project management, I am dedicated to revolutionizing the industry through innovative and efficient practices. Beyond traditional engineering roles, I have excelled in business negotiation and contract management, achieving top placements in competitions and sharing my knowledge through teaching.

Currently, by sharing space at the teaching department and board, as secretary of NPT, I pursue enhancing my teaching skills and promoting what negotiation has the best to offer, a mature path for communication. Negotiation, to me, signifies creating solutions for civilization with a holistic, human-centred approach.

I’m currently studying Psychology, a field that I find broad and applicable across many disciplines. Negotiation is one area where psychology plays a key role, something I hope to explore further. Reading Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman inspired my passion for behavioural economics and decision-making. I believe there’s still much to discover about how psychology can enhance negotiation practices.

A unique part of my background is having experienced diverse education systems. Growing up, I moved between countries and attended various types of schools. This exposure to different cultures and learning methods has given me a flexible mindset when it comes to problem-solving and collaboration. As a treasurer and new cohort member, I’m excited to contribute to the Negotiation Project and work with everyone toward our shared goals!

While pursuing a Master's in Business IT, I am excited to be part of the NPT board for 2024/25. Being part of the 2023/24 cohort was an unforgettable experience that allowed me to immerse myself in a truly enriching environment. Participating in three distinct events, TNC, GNC, and DNO offered opportunities to explore different types of negotiation and sharpen my skills. A standout moment was receiving the Best Individual Negotiator award at TNC 2024, which was both an honour and a motivation to keep improving and share my passion for negotiation with others.

As a board member, my goal is to ensure the new cohort has a similar, if not even better, experience that’s rich in growth, friendship, and fun. I'm thrilled to collaborate with my fellow board members and support the incoming cohort as they develop into skilled and confident negotiators. Here’s to another impactful and rewarding year with NPT.
