The Negotiation Challenge

THE NEGOTIATION CHALLENGE

The Negotiation Challenge (TNC) is an annual international negotiation competition in which university teams gather to compete and showcase their negotiation abilities. In TNC, the teams consist of three students who try to obtain the best deals during multiple rounds of negotiations. TNC consists of three qualification rounds and three final rounds that take place on two consecutive days.

FIRST PLACE AT THE NEGOTIATION CHALLENGE 2024

In April, the team of Diana Bozea, Artur Dylewski, and Richard Botez secured first place in The Negotiation Challenge 2024, held in NPT's hometown of Enschede. This prestigious victory earned them the "Global Negotiation Champions" title, recognizing their hard work and dedication.

Following three online rounds against teams from Greece and Poland, as well as an AI bot specialized in negotiations, the team emerged at the top of the qualification rounds. Out of 66 teams from universities worldwide, including Harvard University, the University of Colombia, HHL Leipzig, and many others, only 16 advanced to the finals.

The final rounds took place in Enschede at the University of Twente, which we were all honoured to host. In the final, another set of three rounds took place during the span of two days against teams from Germany, Belgium, and Poland. The closing ceremony revealed the winners who won first place and brought the trophy home, which you can find in the photo below, along with the testimonials of each member.

PREVIOUS NEGOTIATION CHALLENGES

SECOND PLACE AT THE NEGOTIATION CHALLENGE 2020

In April, the team, along with David and Henrieke, competed in the Negotiation Challenge 2020. Originally, the Competition was planned in Barcelona, but due to the known circumstances (COVID-19), the competition structure was transformed to be held online. After many cases, the team made it to the final 2 teams! In the finals, we competed against the American University Harvard. On a split decision, we sadly did not manage to win 1st place in the competition. Nevertheless, we obtained an optimal result for our first competition with our second place in the Negotiation Challenge 2020.

SECOND PLACE AT THE NEGOTIATION CHALLENGE 2019!

In March, the team and Aldis travelled to Japan to compete in the Negotiation Challenge 2019. After many cases, the team made it to the final 2 teams! In the finals, we competed against an American University. On a split decision, we sadly did not win the competition. Nevertheless, we obtained an optimal result for our first competition, which earned us second place in the Negotiation Challenge 2019. Pictures of the different negotiation rounds and our awards can be found in our photo album.
